Areas of interest
My areas of interest are primarily related to the professional development of
the subjects I teach:
- Design as a commercial tool, cultural expression, user interface, and visual infrastructure. Design process for insight, problem solving or reflection.
- Identity development, value-based communication and user experience across platforms, surfaces and media, as well as spatial, tactile and interactive aspects of visual communication.
- Design language, style and form expression, semiotics, methodology and processes, visual systems and aesthetic expression, as well as relationships and kinship to emerging disciplines such as photography, architecture, art and film.
- Issues and considerations in the practice of the design subject related to credibility, justice, ethics and sustainability.
- Creative learning culture and pedagogical methods.
