My main interest in teaching and research is leadership in Early childhood education. Together with colleagues, I have developed and conducted leadership studies at the bachelor, master and government levels. I have long experience from working as a leader in early childhood, and in my master's thesis I did action research related to my own workplace. In 2016 i finished my doctoral thesis: Leadership as hybrid practices - a qualitative and interpretive shadow study of pedagogical leaders in early childhood centers. You can read my thesis here (3 of the articles are in English) : https://ntnuopen.ntnu.no/ntnu-xmlui/bitstream/handle/11250/2396996/Marit%20Bøe.pdf?sequence=5&isAllowed=y From 2017-2018 i was leader of the secretary of the Expert group appointed by the Minstry of Education. The Expert group was asked to examine and document the role of Norwegian ECE teachers and to develop recommendations on how the profession could be further developed.
