During this popular-scientific event, Dr. Sheila Malone (University of Galway, Ireland) and Dr. Brendan Keegan (Maynooth University, Ireland) will present key findings from their case study on Drammen’s regeneration. The presentation will be followed by a “researchers-community” roundtable discussion and an open dialogue with the audience, exploring how these insights can inform future development of the city. This event is part of the EU-funded project NetZeroCities – Drammen.

Presenters and roundtable participants:

Sheila Malone: Assistant Professor in Marketing at the University of Galway, Ireland. Her research interests lie in the areas of sustainable consumption behaviour, place making, ethics and tourism.


Brendan Keegan: Assistant Professor in Marketing at Maynooth University specializing in digital and social media marketing analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in marketing and digital placemaking.


Arild Tjomsland: Special advisor at USN Sustainability and consultant for innovation, sustainability, process management, business development, design and strategy. Advocate for active transport.


Vibeke Narverud Nyborg: Associate Professor (USN) in the history of medicine and health, with focus on societal and humanist perspectives. Advocate for the preservation of Drammen’s historical landmarks.
