We want to create a meeting point for researchers and teachers who are engaged in this area of mathematics education. We hope this can be an arena to share experiences and make contacts.
There will be presentations from researchers with interests in exploring positioning of argumentations and proof in teaching and learning of mathematics.
David Reid (University of Bremen) presents his ideas on the theme: Teaching and Learning Mathematical Proof: International Perspectives.
Anita Valenta and Ole Enge (NTNU) present their ideas on the theme: Reasoning and proving in arithmetic.
Silke Lekaus and Gjert Anders Askevold (HVL) present their ideas on the theme: Argumentation and proving in classroom – some experiences.
Ida Heiberg Solem and Eyvind Briseid (OsloMet) present their ideas on the theme: Wonderment, argumentation, and playful thinking in mathematics - from children’s books to logical inferences. Ellen Hovik and Lars Reinholdtsen (OsloMet) present their ideas on the theme: Argumentation and proof, examples from teacher education grades 5-10.
Andrea Hofmann (USN), Sigurd Hals (USN), Trond Stølen Gustavsen (UiB) and Sikunder Ali (HVL) present their ideas on the theme: Teachers working with argumentation and proof in mathematics.
Working group - Argumentation and proof in mathematics teacher education
Ida Solem and Eyvind Briseid (OsloMet) and Andrea Hofmann (USN) will be organizing a working group on argumentation and proof in teacher education. Discussions in the working group are on issues that will be raised during the presentations.
All the best from
Sikunder Ali, Trond Stølen Gustavsen, Andrea Hofmann and Sigurd Hals
