Espen Brembo is employed as an associate professor at the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences with affiliations to the Center for Health and Technology. He leads the master's degree programme Digitization and Innovation in Health and Welfare Services. In his doctoral work, Brembo conducted research about hip osteoarthritis with a focus on patients' needs, coping strategies and shared decision-making across the disease trajectory. He is currently engaged in research projects within innovation and digitization of the health service, task-shifting, as well as education and clinical communication. Previously, Brembo worked as a nurse in the home care service in Oslo municipality for several years before he was employed at USN as a research fellow in 2013 and completed his PhD in Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Oslo in 2020.
