Jalal Khodaparast did his Bachelor's and Master's of science at the Shahrood University of Technology in 2009 and 2011. He worked on PSS and power quality in B.Sc and M.Sc. He started his Ph.D. in 2012 and defended his thesis in 2017. His thesis was related to dynamic phenomena in a power system, protection, and FACTS. He did a 12-month postdoctoral research scholarship from ERCIM "Alain Bensoussan Fellowship Programme" at NTNU. He worked on monitoring of modern power system by PMU. Then he worked on the stability of large- scale power system dominated by power electronic technologies in his second post-doc position at NTNU. Now he is an Associate Professor at Department of Electrical Engineering, IT and Cybernetic, University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), Porsgrunn, Norway. His main research interest is Monitoring of power system, PMU, application of signal processing in power system, HVDC and FACTS devices.
