Karianne is an Associate Professor at Department of languages, University College of Southeast Norway. She teaches discourse analysis and conversation analysis (CA) in teacher education (BA, MA, PHD). Karianne has a Ph.d.-degree on email interaction in the workplace from University of Oslo and Norwegian School of Management (BI). Her research interest is talk and social interaction in institutional settings, and she uses conversation analysis as methodological framework. Karianne was guest lecturer at University of Vilnius from 2000-2002 and advisor in The Language Council of Norway from 2009-2010.

  • Proect leader CAiTE - Conversation Analytic Innovation for Teacher Education (NFR / Norwegian Resaerch Council)
  • Board leader of LNU (Landslaget for norskundervisning [The national organization for teachers in Norwegian]
