Svein Morten Rougnø started working at Vestfold University College in 1997, first as a teacher in computer science, and then (since 2000) in the IT department. Since then the Vestfold University College has been renamed several times. First to Vestfold and Buskerud University College, then to the University College of Southeast Norway, and now to the University of South-Eastern Norway.
