I am an historian and educationalist specialising in histories of civil society, education and childhood in modern Europe. I am broadly interested in the political, cultural and social aspects of education, as well as the political mobilization of children in twentieth-century Europe. I also have expertise in the methods and practices of teaching history and have co-authored award-winning textbooks for primary social studies. I graduated with an MA in Modern History from King’s College, London in 2013, worked for five years as a lecturer in teacher education, before recently completing my PhD at Uppsala University in 2023.
