Why study maritime exchange courses at USN?

Norway has one of the most complete maritime business sectors in the world, the Norwegian Maritime Cluster.  USN is one of the leading academic institution within this cluster.  We offers a full set of bachelor-, master- and PhD programs related to maritime operations and management.

Our MSc Maritime Management program is a 2-year (120 ECTS) program. One semester (autumn semester, 2nd year of the program) is offered as a course package (30 ECTS) for exchange students coming from similar type of master programs elsewhere.

What you will learn

You will be integrated in our regular master class and follow the courses for this class.

Students with technical background may take the course MM-EAT5400 Electro and automation instead of MM-MLA4701. Other elective courses from our portfolio may be selected instead of MM-DIG5800.

The exchange student has the responsibility to secure acceptance of the USN courses by the originating institution.

Admission requirements

The programme is open to international exchange students studying at one of USN's bilateral partner institutions, who are officially nominated by their home university.

Exchange students at Master's level must hold a Bachelor diploma Maritime sciences, Management or equivalent and should have completed at least 1 year at Master's level at their home institution before they enrol at USN. The student shall comply with the general admission requirements to the MSc in Maritime Management. Normally there is a requirement of a C average for admission at Master level.

Admission to the programme requires a good command of the English language, both spoken and written. An English proficiency equivalent to B2 (Cambridge) level is recommended.

More information about nomination and application procedures can be found here.
