Seismic RAS course

The course runs over 5 days and handles all the necessary BRM/ERM amendments in addition to wide range of RAS simulator exercises and theory.

Through the course the participants learn how to conduct safe RAS operations according to company specific safety procedures, checklists and general procedures, in addition to other BRM/ERM navigational simulator exercises demanded by STCW.

Our maritime instructors and technicians have a broad expertise in seismic navigation, HSEQ and safety and in recovery and deployment of seismic equipment.

Objective

To train bridge and engine room personnel in different scenarios related to seismic production and resupply at sea together with bridge personnel on the support vessel.
The course complies with the new BRM/ERM requirements set in the STCW 1978 with amendments.

The course is adaptable to whatever the customer want to train their personnel on additionally, preferably in simulators.

Content

Courses will consist of theoretical introductions and discussions around the central themes and selected cases and scenarios.
Use of IGP (Individual- Group-Plenum) method to reveal the tacit knowledge of the participants and to encourage experience transfer and sharing of knowledge.

Learning methods will be student orientated with on-going coaching and assessments, both peer-, self- and instructor assessments.

Training will be on the simulators connected to the SIMSAM facilities. The use of briefing and debriefing is an important part of the courses.

Technical equipment

State of the art Offshore Simulator (KOVS) incl. Kongsberg DP/K-pos, and own support bridge. Kongsberg Engine room simulator (optional for training ERM)
