The University under Corona Restrictions

NEWS (19th of May):

Due to health and travel restrictions most international students are facing difficulties in arriving in August.

Apart from two programmes (Maritime Management and Environmental Science), our English taught master programmes therefore offer an online Fall semester (first semester).

We are hoping and planning for a normal on-campus semester start in January 2021. The last day you can start your second semester in Norway is January 15th, 2021.Students who are unable to join on-campus or online studies this Fall semester have the option of reserving their study place for August 2021 by sending an e-mail to admissions@usn.no within June 15th.

News (5th of Nov)

Due to health and travel restrictions, incoming students are still facing difficulties arriving for the spring semester in January.

We still are hoping and planning for a normal on-campus semester start in January 2021. However, be aware that changes may be made depending on advice and restrictions given by the government, the Norwegian institute of public health and the university.

Nov 11th:

Due to rising outbreaks in Norway, a negative Covid-19 test is now required when entering Norway from a red country.

You are required to stay for 10 days in a quarantine hotel. USN will cover the expences.

The Study Permits/VISA

We still hope to see all students on campus for the spring semester in January. The immigration authorities (UDI) have started to issue student permits, but we do not know the situations at the different embassies/VFS-offices so you must follow the information they provide.

All questions regarding Study Permit/Visa must be directed to the local embassies/VFS-offices. The University does not handle these issues beyond issuing the Letter of Admission.
