The internship is a part of the InternAbroad programme, which aims to strengthen the collaborations between higher educational institutions and enterprises in public and private sector. InternAbroad makes it possible for USN students to apply for credit-yelding internships n Brazil, which will be recognized as a part of the student’s degree. The programme is based on a collaboration between Diku and Innovation Norway.
The internship will last for six months. You will have two days of internship per week (equivalent to 15 credits), combined with studies two days a week at a university in the same city (equivalent to the remaining 15 credits).
In the application process, you will get help finding a company for your internship and a university that matches your field of study. The universities USN have agreements with are highly ranked and the courses will complement your internship.
Where can I get Internship?
Internships are possible in several cities in Brazil, Rio, Recife and Lajeado (Rio Grande do Sul). Where you can go depends on your fields of study.
Internship in Rio is available to students in Business Administration, Marketing Management, International Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, information systems and engineering (bachelor). You will be able to study at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC), one of the top five universities in Brazil, or the Instituto Militar de Engenharia (IME).
Internship i Recife is available to bachelor students in IT and information systems. You will be able to study at the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE). Recife is the capital and the largest city of the state of Pernambuco in the northeast corner of South America. The city is located in the tropical climate zone.
Internship in the city of Lajeado (Rio Grande do Sul) is available to students in Business Administration, Marketing Management, International Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Innovation and information systems. In Lajeado, you combine your internship with studies at Universidade do Vale do Taquari (UNIVATES).
Requirements for Internship in Brazil
- An average grade C
- To be qualified for admission you must meet some minimum requirements for English proficiency: Pass in English from a Norwegian Upper Secondary School (140 hours), with at least Grade 4. Alternatively, a TOEFL or IELTS-test be used to document English proficiency
