Exchange: USN has one place available for two students for one semester each, per year.

Subject area: Technology, mainly in electrical engineering/automation at bachelor and master level.

Admission requirements: 

  • Average grade of C
  • Language requirement: For courses taught in English, B2-level is required. Students will have to undergo an online language placement test before they start.

Tuition fee: There are no tuition fees for USN-students under the Erasmus+ programme. Students will receive an Erasmus grant. If students have support from the State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen), they will also be eligible for full support from them.

If we send student outside the quota, students may have to pay tuition fees, and may not be eligible for an Erasmus grant. Reykjavik University is a private university.

Recognition of credits: Before travelling out, your courses will be pre-approved. If you complete and pass the courses, as agreed upon, the courses will be recognised as part of your degree at USN.

Semester dates (approximate dates):

Semester 1: Mid-August – Late December 

Semester 2: Mid-January – Late May

Housing: The International Office at Reykjavik University may help students find housing.
