USN is preparing to welcome students from all our international partners, for Autumn semester 2021. All our study exchange and degree programmes are currently planning to run as normal, however USN is monitoring the situation and this might be subject to change. All partners and students will be informed accordingly.

Please note that USN is monitoring the situation and that this might be subject to change. All partners and students will be informed accordingly.

Kindly note that most incoming practice placements/internships are cancelled for Autumn 2021. This especially goes for international students applying for placements in the health care, as well as schools, and might apply to industry and private businesses, depending on their policy.

The Student welfare services (SSN) guarantees on-campus student housing for international students Autumn 2021. All international students who would like to stay in SSN student dormitories must apply for student housing directly with SSN. Please note that this is a separate process from the student application process. International students should submit their applications through SSN within May 1st for the spring semester. Alternatively, students should be advised to turn to private housing providers off campus, where it is possible to rent a room or a small apartment. Check out airbnb, Dorm or for private housing.

Students should also be aware of the quarantine regulations, set by the Norwegian health authorities, that implies entry quarantine in to Norway. You can find more information at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health.

Students who require a study permit to Norway should also take into consideration that the processing of visa applications and registrations with the police might take longer than usual. More information can be found on

Outgoing mobility from USN to international partners:

Due to the current situation, USN has decided to cancel outgoing study mobility outside Europe, for Autumn semester 2021. We are currently sending students to our study abroad/exchange partners within the Nordic and European countries. Hopefully we will be back to a more normal situation within Spring 2022.
