Our research
We combine our different competences in the quest to develop knowledge, attitudes and skills related to a broad approach to sustainability in education. The work is directed both inwards, towards professionals and the professional communities within USN, and outwards, towards various actors locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. The aim is to contribute to awareness, increased understanding and change in the direction of eco-pedagogy.
How we do research
To achieve this goal, we have chosen a research approach that is inspired by creative, eco-systemic reflection. There is room for both philosophical, theoretical, and practical aspects of the interplay of nature – humans – culture in education. These perspectives can open doors to a living ecology in the educational landscape. We invite individual and collective explorations of the didactic interplay, both within and between the ideological, formal, perceived, implemented, and experienced aspects of education. Thus, we share aspects of eco-pedagogy across subjects and professions. This approach has resulted in a number of small and large sustainability projects, enriched by interaction with other research groups and external partners.
