Algebraic geometry - Research Group

Algebraic geometry is a branch of mathematics that studies geometric objects, such as curves, surfaces and higher-dimensional analogues, by algebraic methods.

The field has connecting points to many mathematical disciplines, for instance number theory, representation theory and topology. Recently there has also been an extraordinarily fertile exchange of ideas between algebraic geometry and theoretical physics, especially quantum field theory and string theory.

The research group in algebraic geometry at USN work in the area of moduli- and deformation theory, classical algebraic geometry, in addition to number theory and algebra. See the group members’ personal pages for more details.
