Expected progress of study. Full time is programmes with full progress of study (60 ECTS credits per academic year, 30 ECTS credits per semester). Part time is programmes with less than full progress of study (less than 60 ECTS credits per academic year, or less than 30 ECTS credits per semester).
Campus Bø has an exceptionally good study environment in addition to a very strong research and field focus. The Master studies within Ecology and Environmental Management is a multidisciplinary and gives you a unique combination of professional and management skills. The study includes a broad scope of relevant research questions and challenges within the fields of ecology and environmental management.
Many of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals are central to the study. You will gain a good understanding of different ecosystems (terrestrial and aquatic), key components and processes. You will also learn about the interactions between humans and the environment.
The master's program is specifically aimed at applicants with a background in natural sciences and Environmental qualifies for a range of jobs in administration and research, depending on the subject areas you specialize in.
Graduates of the program will have advanced knowledge within Climate Change and Study Design and Statistics in addition to advanced knowledge within several elective courses (i.e. Pollution and Microbiology, Ecotoxicology, Landscape ecology and remote sensing, Habitat Ecology, Applied Molecular Genetics, Applied Conservation Biology, Individual Project).
The study is research and management oriented and provides thorough experience of laboratory and/or fieldwork

A master’s degree in Ecology and Environmental Management (with a B grade average) will qualify to apply for a PhD position in Ecology.
