By joining forces with academia, NGOs and industry, we aim that the students will gain
unique knowledge bridging the gap between theory and practice, and increase their employability without requiring curriculum changes.
We also aim to strengthen and continue a long-term interdisciplinary collaboration between USN and SPPU. By joining forces with NGO`s and industrial partners we expect to enhance the quality and social relevance of our educational programs.
The objectives of the project shall be achieved through several carefully defined mini projects to be carried out by MSc and PhD students who will be jointly supervised in a blended mobility set-up. The activities will include student exchange, internships at companies/NGOs, summer schools, online seminars and development of educational modules to be integrated in new and existing courses at both Universities.
Soil and water sustain our food systems, sequester carbon and support myriads of
organisms. The focus will be sampling of soil and water, DNA analysis characterizing culturable and non culturable microbes, bioinformatics technologies and farming management strategies. It also aims to analyse physical and chemical stressors in soil and water in addition to using biochar as a soil and water enhancement.
The students will have the opportunity to work in an applied setting together with NGO`s and farmers in Norway and India.
