Hilde R. Pedersen studied Optometry and Vision Science at Buskerud University College, Kongsberg, Norway. She graduated in 2006, and worked as an optometrist in private practice for eight years. She completed a Master of Science in Optometry and Visual Science in June 2015. From autumn 2015 to January 2017 she worked as a lecturer and research assistant at the Department of Optometry and Visual Science at the University College of Southeast Norway. She started a 3-year PhD-fellowship in January 2017 to undertake a Ph.D in the Colour Vision and Retinal Imaging Laboratory (the CVRI Lab) with professor Rigmor C. Baraas, and completed her doctoral degree in May 2020. Since July 2020 she has worked as an Associate Professor at the Department of Optometry, Radiography and Lighting Design at the University of South-Eastern Norway. Her research interests are related to retinal structure-visual function relationship in normal healthy eyes and eyes with retinal dysfunction.
