Jeg forsker og underviser i reiselivsfag, Service management, Bacheloroppgave og Nature, culture and guiding er de fag jeg har på bachelornivå. Jeg har en professor II stilling på Høgskolen i Holar, Island der jeg er ansvarlig for emnet Trends and traditions in tourism research på masternivå. I tillegg er jeg veileder for studenter på bachelor, master og PhD programm. Jeg har bakgrunn i fagdidaktik i kunst og kunsthåndverk, for dette rektor ved Islands konst-og håndverkshøgskole, kulturkonsulent for Islands Institutt for Regional Utvikling og styreleder i utvalget for læreplan i kunstfag for grunn- og videregående skole i Island. Fra 1996 har jeg vært engasjert i reiselivsutdanning og forskning, med fokus på kultur og kulturarvsturisme. Jeg er en av få reiselivsforskere som fokuserer på hest i turisme.
