RESEARCH EXPERIENCES

  1. University of Bergen, Norway (2017-2018)

Mentor: Professor Dieter Roehrich

Project: Noise and Cluster Size Studies of ALPIDE-CMOS Pixel Sensor for pCT

Major Findings: As Monolithic Active Pixel Sensor (MAPS) chips to build a Proton CT prototype, the ALPIDE chip showed enough radiation tolerance by displaying sustained functionality after being irradiated with high energy Helium-4 ion of 9 MeV.  The acquired cluster size from irradiated ALPIDE chip (with 241Am, 90Sr, 55Fe, Variable Energy X-ray and Proton beam) showed expected outcome that indicated the suitability of ALPIDE chip for Proton CT data acquisition.

  1. University of Dhaka, Bangladesh (2013-2015)

Mentor: Professor Dr.  Khondokar Siddique-e Rabbani

Project: Investigation of X-ray Image Quality in Telemedicine

Major Findings: The digitized image produced by an X-ray view box and Logitech webcam showed similar characteristics as real X-ray film grayscale image. Information about granular object was also extracted from the digitized image. An exponential relation between image pixel value and object thickness was established supporting the expected behaviour based on basic principles. In this research work, digitized X-ray image quality showed to be usable for tele-diagnosis and for making any medical decision.

  1. American International University Bangladesh (AIUB), Bangladesh (2011-2012)

Mentor: Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan, Associate Professor

Project: Harmonics elimination from power system using Hybrid active filter with PWM

Major Findings: By using MULTISIM simulation, a new generation power electronics converter namely hybrid active filters is found to mitigate undesirable effects due to harmonic voltages and currents such as overheating of power transformers and neutral wires and unpredictable performance of protection systems.
