Supervised examination for students

Supervised examinations are normally conducted in USN’s premises with invigilators present. You use your own PC/Mac.

For digital examinations, you must have your own PC or Mac, cf. Regulations under the Universities and University Colleges Act (the Universities and University Colleges Regulations) § 4-7. and Regulations on studies and examinations at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) § 3-7.

Here you will find requirements and recommendations for ICT equipment. Check that the camera on your computer works, as you will sometimes need it.

Additional equipment

In addition to your PC/Mac, you may bring an external mouse. It is not permitted to bring other electronic equipment for use during the examination.  If you have a disability that means you need additional equipment, you can apply for special arrangements to use it; read more about it here: Applying for special arrangements for examinations.

Do you have a work PC?

Important: if you have a work PC, you must have administrator rights on your computer so that it is possible to install programmes such as LockDown Browser. If not, IT will not be able to help you on the examination day if problems arise. Contact IT support at your workplace well in advance of the examination so they can add administrator rights for you. Alternatively, you must find another PC or Mac you can use on the examination day.

Types of examination

Below you will find more detailed information about the different types of examination. Are you unsure about your examination type (flow)? Check StudentWeb or contact the examinations office.
