Campus Bø is known for its engaged student community and nature-close location. With around 6,000 inhabitants and over 3,000 students, the village is characterised by youthful energy and a strong sense of community.

So much more happens here than the size of the place would suggest. On the campus, we are a good mix of students from many and quite different fields of study and countries, which contributes to a large and varied student activities.

Student life in Bø is characterised by closeness, engagement, and diversity. There is a wide range of student organisations, sports teams, and cultural offerings. The Student Society in Bø (SSB) organises concerts, themed parties, quiz evenings, and other social activities at Kroa throughout the year. There are also groups for outdoor life, music, politics, and much more – giving everyone the opportunity to find their place.

The buddy week and semester start
The buddy week in Bø is an important part of the start of the semester, providing new students with a safe and social introduction to their study time. The week offers a variety of events, both festive and calm, and facilitates for students to get to know each other and the local community.

Nature and leisure
Bø is situated in beautiful nature, with access to mountains, forests, and water. This offers great opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, skiing, and swimming. Lifjell is just a short drive away and offers excellent hiking and skiing opportunities. Bø Sommarland and the Telemark Canal are also popular attractions in the area.

Culture and city life
Although Bø is a small community, there is a rich cultural life. Gullbring cultural centre houses a cinema, concert venue, theatre, and fitness centre. Concerts, performances, and festivals are regularly held, and local meeting places such as cafes and nightspots provide space for social gatherings.
