Bart from the Netherlands: studying international management at campus Ringerike

Bart in Oslo

Say "hei" to Bart from the Netherlands. He has told us about outdoor sports and magical views in Norway.

Hi Bart,

We have a few questions to you regarding your study exchange in Norway.

  • What did you expect about life in Norway? Was it different from expected, if so – how?

I expected quite the same kind of life as in the Netherlands. This prediction came out very well only the Norwegians are a little bit shyer then I thought but once you are talking with them it is always really nice.

  •   Why did you chose to study in Norway?

I chose for Norway because the general level of English is good, I like outdoor sports and I prefer the climate.

  •   Please share one story from your life that will make us get to know something special about you.

The beautiful thing about Norway is that you can do a lot of challenging hikes. I have done the Trolltunga, Besseggen, Kjerag and Preikestolen hike which were nice to do. The view at the top of all these hikes was magical and something you should definitely experience.

  •  Do you have any tips or tricks for new incoming students to Norway?

As a foreign student, I would recommend to not only focus on making contact with other exchange students but also try to get in touch with Norwegians. They have a lot of knowledge about the area, Norway and nice activities you can do. Besides this, it is always really good to learn to know new people. Joining activities and parties will help you get to know a lot of people! Norway is a great country and the people are very kind.
