Dr. Abdul-Razak is Professor in the Department of Educational Science. His background straddles the fields of education and child welfare. He received his Ph.D. from University of Brunei, M.Phil. from Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet), PGCert and BA from University of South-Eastern Norway (USN). He is a professionally trained Teacher/educator with many years of experience in teaching and social work with children and adults with disabilities. Before joining USN, he worked in Brunei, Ghana, Norway and U.S.A. His research focuses, among others, on pedagogical, psychological and sociological understanding of educational inclusion of children and youth with disabilities, children from minority background and those from less privileged homes. Of particular interest to him are special and inclusive education; learning disabilities and difficulties; child protection; and how history and myths shape the manner children with certain disabilities are treated in society. He employs mixed methodologies (quantitative and qualitative ) with wide-ranging theoretical perspectives in his research.
