Welcome to the University of South-Eastern Norway!
We employ 1,900 people and offer education to about 17,000 students. We provide profession- and business-oriented educational programmes, research, and knowledge dissemination that adhere to international standards.
Our students can choose from full-time, part-time, on-campus, and online learning options. We offer over 300 bachelor’s and master’s degree courses, including 'business bachelor' and 'industry master' degrees that combine studies with paid work. Additionally, USN provides doctoral (PhD) study programmes in six subject fields and several supplementary and further education programmes for those who may be looking for re-training opportunities or want to build on their existing qualifications.
At USN, you will encounter challenging study programmes and innovative teaching approaches that align with the demands of businesses and society.
USN spans three Norwegian counties, with campuses in Bø, Drammen, Horten, Kongsberg, Notodden, Porsgrunn, Ringerike, and Rauland. In 204 we opened a ninth location in Gol, Hallingdal.
USN was created from the merger of several university colleges. The University College of Buskerud and Vestfold merged with the University College of Telemark on 1st January 2016. We were granted university status by Royal Decree on 4th May 2018. Today, USN is headed by Pia Cecilie Bing-Jonsson.
