Educate and supervise radiographers on Bachelor, Master and PhD level.
The University of South-Eastern Norway, Faculty of health and social sciences, do offer a Master degree in clinical health care that involves the study option “Radiation in diagnostics and therapy”. This study, which I'm responsible of, addresses bachelor level radiographers, engineers and technicians in the workplace who wants continuing education formalized in an academic setting.
As part of the master study, we offer three 15 ECT's master level courses, which are provided as distance-learning courses to address the international community: Justification and skill mix in radiology (MRAD620) - Quality assurance and optimization in radiology (MRAD630) - Strålevern og HMS (MRAD610). Students are welcome to apply for one of these courses separately from the master studies. For infomration and application see www.usn.no/radiography
More than 30 years’ experience from a regulatory body, dealing with management, inspections, audits, quality insurance and surveys on medical applications of radiation. International experience from collaboration between Nordic and European radiological protection competent authorities (HERCA), EU TREN projects to establish methods for collective effective dose estimates, DOSEDATAMED, and EU 7th framework program research project aimed to provide new knowledge about increased cancer risks due to CT in childhood (EPI-CT). Currently I'm heading USN participation in HARMONIC (2019 - 2024), which aims at better understanding the long-term health effects of medical exposure to ionising radiation in children.
