Husam Abusalem is an architect, curator, and artistic researcher. Currently, he is a PhD Fellow Researcher at the University of South-Eastern Norway. In June 2020, he obtained a two years post-master’s degree in Displacement, Migration & Colonial Heritage as part of the Decolonizing Architecture program at the Royal Institute of Art, in Stockholm, Sweden. In February 2019, he completed an MA in Cultural Heritage Management from the University of Malta. In 2015, Abusalem obtained a bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree with a minor in Business Administration from Birzeit University. Abusalem’s primary research interests and art practice are centered around the concepts of heritage, home, identity, and Exile as well as the intertwinement of these concepts with art, architecture, artistic research, urbanism, biopolitics, and decoloniality.
