Rannveig Røste

Rannveig Røste has a PhD in innovation and entrepreneurship from BI Norwegian School of Business and Economics and a Cand.polit. in political science from the University of Oslo. She has previously worked as a contract researcher in the institute sector, and has extensive experience in research, consulting and project work. She has also been an associate professor at an experience-based master program in health and welfare services. Røste researches and teaches in the interdisciplinary intersection of innovation, organization and management. Her research is aimed at generating new knowledge about how sustainable innovation emerges and develops in the interaction between policy and politics, technological development and organizational processes. She has particularly contributed to developing the research field of innovation in the public sector, in studying the unique aspects of public services, but also the overlapping features with, for example, bureaucratic organization in industry. Røste was one of the founders of the national research network for innovation in the public sector in Norway, and from January 2025 she is editor of the journal Nordic Journal of Innovation in the Public Sector, see: https://www.scup.com/journal/njips. In addition to her own research, she contributes to the development of the strategic focus area of regional value creation at USN.
