At the USN masterprogram in Health and Society I teach and supervise in health promotion and public health with a particular focus on Health & Safety and workplace health promotion. In research I have been particularly interested in the effects of psychosocial working environment on health and health behaviour in different professions. I have also focused on work engagement and workaholism. Recent years, work inclusion of employees and self-employed people with health issues has been a particular focus. Before 2020 I was for many years head of the research group "Health Promotion in Settings" at USN.

Responsibilities

  • Head of the Workplace Health Promotion Research Group in the Nordic Health Promotion Research Network.
  • Norway's representative in European Network for Research on Cancer and Work (RESTART)
  • Member of scientific committee for the triennial Nordic Health Promotion Research Conference
  • PhD course: Health- and welfare policy, research, and service development 
  • Master course: Psychosocial working environment and workplace health promotion
  • Master course: Introduction to society and health
