Our program and courses are developed in collaboration with industry and are designed to meet the needs for future competence. The industry in Norway has a continuing need for new engineers with knowledge within the three professional directions offered at Campus Kongsberg.

Our faculty members passionate about advancing the field of computer science and sharing their expertise with students. You will have the opportunity to learn from them in small class settings, where you will receive personalized attention and guidance throughout your academic journey. We have good facilities and spacious, as well as established collaboration with industries that focus on research and development. We emphasize learning how to apply theoretical knowledge to solve practical tasks, and many of our modules include project work.

What you will learn

You can choose courses from our master’s program in Computer Science which has two specializations in Cybersecurity and Embedded Systems, as well as general degree in Computer Science. Our courses will give you broad knowledge and specialist skills in computer science and engineering. Our curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in Computer Science and Engineering, as well as hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and tools. Further details about courses and course plans are provided in the study plan.

We follow a special model where students focus on a single subject at a time, instead of taking different courses in parallel. Each course has 10 ECTS and will last 6 weeks, followed by final exam or submission of portfolio assignments/projects. Each semester is divided into three blocks of 6 weeks, and you can take only one of the courses offered in each block.

Courses are offered with the provision of all learning materials in a blended-learning format using a flipped model and follow the following plan:

  • One week (total work effort) to study the online materials
  • One week for an intensive on-campus teaching block
  • Three weeks of independent study and work on course assignments and projects with support from lecturers.
  • One week for exam and assessment *

* Note: Courses in the spring semesters do not have final written exam, and students shall deliver portfolio assignments or projects. For those courses, the last two items are merged.

The teaching will take place in English when international students participate in these courses.
