NOTE: Student grants for short-term mobility are on hold until the summer of 2024. This does not apply to students who have applied for funds for short-term mobility and have already been informed that they will be awarded a grant.

Erasmus+ Blended Short-Term Mobility (also known as BIP) is an exchange program that consists of both a digital and a physical component. To participate, you must earn at least 3 ECTS credits, and the physical part of the mobility must last between 5 and 14 days. You may receive a scholarship for the physical component.

Erasmus+ Blended Short-Term Mobility (also known as BIP) is an exchange program that consists of both a digital and a physical component. To participate, you must earn at least 3 ECTS credits, and the physical part of the mobility must last between 5 and 30 days. You may receive a scholarship for the physical component.

Students at USN (University of South-Eastern Norway) can receive scholarship support for participating in blended mobility, which combines physical mobility with a virtual component. It is possible to engage in short-term mobility from the first year of study. Note that only students admitted to degree programs at USN are eligible to apply. Students in one-year programs cannot receive Erasmus+ scholarships.

In short-term mobility, the physical component must be between 5 and 30 days. The maximum scholarship duration is 14 days. Overall, the physical mobility and the virtual component must account for a minimum of 3 ECTS credits (equivalent to 3 study points).

 Scholarship Rates

  • 70 EUR per day for the first 5-14 days (79 EUR for start-up in H23).
  • Travel days before and after the activity can also be covered.

Example: If you participate in physical mobility for 5 days and have two travel days, you will receive a scholarship for 7 days.

--> Please be aware that Erasmus+ activities are never fully funded. The scholarship covers part of the costs of your stay abroad, and you will need to cover the remaining expenses yourself.

Additional Grants:

Students facing fewer opportunities might receive additional grants:

  • 100 euros for short-term mobility lasting 5 to 14 days.

Note that this additional grant does not apply to internships.

Green Mobility:
You can apply for support for environmentally friendly travel (“green travel”). The scholarship for green travel is a one-time payment of 50 EUR. It is a requirement that over 50% of your travel is done using environmentally friendly modes of transportation (bus, train, bicycle, and/or carpooling).

Students interested in green travel must complete a “Declaration on Honour” document, which you will receive after applying.

Application Procedures:

  1. Fill out the online application form and upload confirmation of the activity.
  2. The form must be completed at least 1 month before the physical part of the short-term stay begins.

If your application is approved, you will receive an email from the Erasmus+ coordinator with information about the process, deadlines, and forms.
