How do you receive international students?
At our university all exchange students are encouraged to become part of the LJMU community and as such we will register and orientate students into a school. The Study Abroad team will then meet all incoming exchange students and encourage them to join the International Society who organize lots of external events
Accommodation and cost of living
LJMU can guarantee accommodation through our various suppliers. Costs vary dramatically and students should look at what they want and then they can work out the cost. More information here.
Cost of eating out varies. The Merseyside transportation system is relativly inexpensive and comprehensive in comparison to other cities in England. A young persons daily pass for any travel around the whole region is only £2.85. Travel throughout the rest of the UK varies considerably.
We would estimate that a student needs £1k per month to live in Liverpool
Facilitation at university
We have comprehensive support for disabled and special needs students and all exchange students can access this. Accommodation that is appropriate can be arranged. For those travelling with families we can support them in finding appropriate accommodation
