Submissions Light Symposium 2024

Light Symposium 2024 provides participants with a unique opportunity to share their research findings and contribute to the knowledge base on lighting, light design, and environmental effects. If you have an accepted presentation (either oral or poster), it can be expanded into a full scientific paper. Your contributions will be highly valued and will enhance our scientific understanding of the role of lighting in our environment.

Our call for abstracts is now open until June 15th.

We encourage and accept submissions in one of the four subcategories:

  1. Human well-being and health
  2. Sustainability
  3. Innovation and technology
  4. Lighting X

Abstracts are submitted via Oxford Abstracts. If you don't have a user already, you can easily create one.

We are pleased to announce that accepted abstracts will be published in the conference book of abstracts. Authors of these abstracts will be invited to submit their full papers for potential publication in a special issue of the Lighting Research & Technology journal and the Photochemical & Photobiological Sciences journal for the Topical Collection on Polluting the Darkness.

It is important to note that publishing a full paper in the journals will require a substantial addition and potential improvement of the manuscript submitted to the conference. Additionally, submissions will undergo a regular review process at the selected journals (including the usual revision rounds and potential rejection).

Important Dates:

  • April 1st - Abstract submission opens.
  • June 15th  - Deadline for abstract submissions.
  • June 30th - Notification of acceptance of abstract, feedback and requests for revisions.
  • August 1st - Revised abstract submission.
  • August 10th - Final acceptance of abstract, presentation and/or poster.
  • October 20th - 23rd - Conference!
