After the Partner Days conclude on Wednesday, June 4th, the following options are available:
Option 1. Depart Bø and USN
Option 2. Stay in Bø one additional night and join meetings for Campus Bø on Thursday, June 5th
Option 3. Travel to Kongsberg and join meetings at Campus Kongsberg on Thursday, June 5th
Option 4. Travel to Notodden on either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning to join meetings at Campus Notodden.
A short summary of the extra day, June 5th:
Campus Bø (approximate time frame 9:00 – 14:00):
Meetings with representatives from the following departments:
Business and IT, Languages and Literature Studies, Sports, Physical Education and Outdoor Studies and Natural Sciences. The day in Bø will also include a visit to a local business that makes traditional Norwegian costumes (bunad) from the Telemark region.
Campus Kongsberg (approximate time frame 9:00 – 15:00):
Meetings with representatives from the following departments:
Science and Industry Systems, Optometry, Innovation and Technology Management, Economics and Management. The day will conclude with a guided walking tour of Kongsberg, a historical mining town.
Campus Notodden (approximate time frame 10:00 – 16:00):
Meetings with representatives from the following departments:
Physical Education, Sport and Outdoor Studies, Visual and Performing Arts Education. The day in Notodden will also include a visit to the Heddal Stave Church and the UNESCO World Industrial Heritage Site.
Registration and fees:
We have a registration fee of 700 NOK, which includes all the meals in the program. You will need to cover your own travel and accommodation expenses. However, we encourage our partners to use Erasmus+ staff mobility funds available at their home institutions to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
The staff week is open to staff from International Relations Offices and Erasmus Offices who are involved in or interested in developing their international activities. The working language of the staff week is English.
Travel:
We recommend flying to the Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) for the best connections to the Bø Campus as well as easiest return from Bø, Notodden and Kongsberg. The Go Ahead train route serves the Oslo city center to Bø several times daily. There are multiple departures between the OSL airport and the Oslo city center. Please allow at least 3 hours of travel time between the OSL airport and Bø depending on the Go Ahead schedule from Oslo city center.
Please note that public transportation between the Torp Sandefjord airport and Bø Campus is much more limited. Feel free to contact us if you still consider this other route. Hotel in Bø:
Rooms have been reserved at the Bø Hotell which is conveniently located adjacent to USN Campus Bø and within walking distance, about 10 minutes, to the train and bus station in Bø.
In order to get the USN discount price, the rooms must be booked by e-mail directly with the hotel (not their online booking system). Please e-mail post@bohotell.no and refer to code 137023 to request a room and the number of nights.
Single rooms: 1,349 NOK per night
Double rooms: 1,599 NOK per night

Hotels in Kongsberg:
For those planning to attend the extra day, Thursday, June 5th in Kongsberg, we recommend traveling by train from Bø to Kongsberg late Wednesday afternoon. The travel time between Bø and Kongsberg is about 50 minutes by train.
There are two USN reservations for hotels in Kongsberg. Rooms have been reserved at the Quality Hotel Grand Kongsberg.
For Quality Hotel Grand Kongsberg: Single room: 1,695 NOK per night including breakfast. The hotel is located centrally in Kongsberg and is about a 5-minute walk from the train station and a 15-minute walk to the Campus in Kongsberg. Please use reference BK-00904 when booking. Hotel in Notodden:
Participants planning to visit Notodden on Thursday, June 5th can either stay in Bø until Thursday morning and travel by bus to Notodden in the morning or travel to Notodden on Wednesday afternoon. Rooms have been reserved at the Brattrein Hotell in Notodden.
Single rooms: 1,095 NOK per night including breakfast
Double rooms: 1,295 NOK per night including breakfast
