The 1st KECIBN Conference constitutes a meeting place for teachers, coordinators, leaders, and researchers. Presenters and knowledge exchange among participants will be dialoguing how Strengthening approaches to IB Teaching and Learning through professional Learning Communities and IB schools can turn todays challenges into new opportunities. This to support the development of tomorrows learning and samhandling (interaction) possibilities for the future.

Presenters

The conference programme will incorporate a wide variety of national and international educational renowned key researchers with including time on sharing experiences as well as representatives sharing from, NIBS, Norway.

Receiving funding from County Governor of Troms and Finnmark
we are pulling forward an extra focus on knowledge exchange throughout learning communities. There will be time for dialog, turning into sharing experiences in groups.

  • Jeffrey Hall, University of Oslo. Chapter 9A and legal regulation – students’ rights in the Norwegian school system.
  • Tobias Werler, University of Oslo. Students’ real participation. 
  • Elisabeth Rees-Johnstone, University of Toronto. Theme will be published later.
  • Michael Cassidy, University of Toronto. KECIBN focus and foundation for Workshops, spring 2024. OISE CPL.
  • Hedda Berntsen, University of South-Eastern Norway. Autonomy supportive teaching and student engagement, learning and well-being.

The Knowledge Exchange Conference will be facilitated by OISE and USN. OISE will use information and experiences from this conference to plan next springs workshops.

How to find campus Drammen

Both Oslo Gardemoen (OSL, main airport) and Sandefjord Torp (TRF) are convenient for reaching the “River City” of Drammen. From OSL reach the “Plan Train” directly to Drammen. From TRF there is a shuttle bus to the train station and a train to Drammen. There are a few minutes to reach Ambassadeur Hotel, Drammen.
