Ongoing research projects (Project member)

  • Multimodal Learning and Assessment in 1:1 Classrooms (MuLVu). The project investigates how students in lower secondary education (age 13-15) compose multimodal texts, and how teachers assess these texts in classrooms where every student has their own digital device. Funded by the Norwegian Research Council (The FINNUT Programme) and Bærum Municipality

 

Completed projects

  • Doing Representations –  Teachers’ and students’ collaborative sensemaking with visual representations in history and science (PhD project, 2015-2020). The project investigates the role of teacher support in students’ engagement with visual representations. Funded by The Institute of Teacher Education and School Research, University of Oslo.
  • DiDiAC - Digitalised Dialogues Across the Curriculum (University of Oslo/University of Cambridge, 2016-2020). The project investigates how the use of the microblogging tool Talkwall and the ‘Thinking Together’-approach can support classroom dialogues across three key knowledge domains – language, social science and natural science. Funded by The Research Council of Norway (the FINNUT program)
  • Representation and participation in school science (REDE) (University of Oslo, 2016-2019). Design-based research project investigating and developing teaching practices centered on the use of representations in school science. Funded by the Research Council of Norway (the FINNUT program)
  • ARK&APP (Universitetet i Oslo, 2014-2016). The project investigates the use of educational resources in the planning, conducting and evaluation of teaching. Two national surveys and 12 case studies in four subjects (Year 5-13) were conducted. Funded by The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training
