I teach both practical and theoretical subjects in folk music, traditional (folk) arts, and musical instrument making. My research interests include the reconstruction of historical musical instruments, playing techniques, and dance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the instrument‑making program
  • Course coordinator for the first‑year folk music curriculum

Competences

I play fiddle, guitar, and Norwegian citar (18th century cittern). I have a background in improvisational and noise music, but I have specialized in folk music and dance from Vestfold county at the south-eastern coast of Norway. I also work with documentation and reconstruction of musical instruments, as well as transcription of folk music.
