I teach Norwegian in teacher education programmes and the Bachelor’s Programme in Language and Literature, and conduct research on the Norwegian language. My main research areas are grammar, spoken-language variation, and language change. From 2026, I serve as co-editor of Norsk Lingvistisk Tidsskrift (NLT).
Responsibilities
- Teaching grammar, spoken-language variation, and language change in the one-year programme in Norwegian and in primary and lower secondary teacher education. I hold the title of Excellent Teaching Practitioner and am a member of USN’s Academy of Excellent Teaching Practitioners.
- Research on linguistic variation and change in Norwegian.
- Public engagement and outreach on language-related topics, including contributions to the blog Språknerderiet and the language column Språket in Klassekampen.
- Chair of the National Academic Council for Scandinavian Languages and Literature (2025–2027).
- Faculty union representative for the Norwegian Association of Researchers at USN, Faculty of Humanities, Sports and Educational Science.
- Co-editor of Norsk Lingvistisk Tidsskrift (from 2026).
