Get to know the six work packages within EDUC.

Work Package 1: Governance, Management and Coordination 

WP1 is about defining joint vision and values, develop joint management structures and a pool of resources across the 8 universities.

1.1: Define and monitor the EDUC Charter of Common Values and Good Cooperation

Development of a Charter of good cooperation. Responsible for the legal aspects and agreements for the EDUC II cooperation. Quality assurance and continuously progress in EDUC II

1.2: Transform institutional structures to implement, monitor and evaluate EDUC 
  • Legal status: Develop a framework for legal status for the alliance. Implementation when legal status is ready.
  • Inter-office cooperation: Facilitating for closer cooperation between administrative services through physical and digital meetings for administrative units within the same areas, across institutions.

1.3: Develop collaborative e-tools for learners, staff and stakeholders
  • Development of digital tools and platforms for cooperation between institutions.
  • Develop a strategy for digitalisation, for the EDUC campus, with special regards to virtual mobility

1.4: EDUC Knowledge Investment Fund 
  • Indexing of external financial mechanisms

  • Development of EDUC financial strategy with long-term perspectives

  • Developing an investment fund, with funding from fundraising activities, in cooperation with external partners

1.5: Data security 
  • Issues related to data security; ensure that regulations and laws are followed

Work Package 2: Education agenda

WP2 enhances cooperation in the area of education; joint pool of resources, open source solutions, seamless mobility for students, internationalisation of curricula and developing micro-credentials with innovative forms of teaching and learning.

2.1: Create a sustainable EDUC Virtual Campus

Development of a digital  “EDUC Campus” where Education, Research cooperation and joint structures will be made visible and be offered across the alliance and beyond

2.2: Open EDUC infrastructures and data for education
  • Mapping existing infrastructures for research and education in the universities.
  • Identify “best practice” for open access, and develop a roadmap for joint infrastructures and practice in EDUC.

2.3: Internationalisation of curricula

Activities to enhance internationalisation of our study programmes within the following 3 tracks:

  • Virtual mobility: Developing online courses across the institutions. Courses will be offered as virtual mobility courses for students, between the institutions. 
  • Internationalised local programmes: Develop a framework for
  • Joint/double degrees: Develop a framework for developing a minimum of 6 joint/double degrees between the institutions within 2027.

2.4: Innovative formats in priority areas including micro-credentials as intensive programmesT

 

  • Developing a framework for micro-credentials in EDUC, in order to develop new innovative joint teaching, offered across the institutiojns
  • Development of badges for formal documentation of the competence reached

2.5: Develop EDUC Gateway programmes

Offering multidisciplinary programmes and a “GAP-years” to all students in EDUC within the following 3 tracks:

  • GAP-year; physical mobility within a multidisciplinary area; 1-2 semesters at one of the partner institutions
  • GOMP; online multidisciplinary programmes offered 1-2 semestre virtually, across the universities in the alliance
  • GOLP: online programme in intercultural communication/language, offered to students virtually across the alliance

2.6: Intensify the EDUC Teaching academy

Developing joint activities for supporting teachers with respect to innovative and digital teaching

  • Mapping of existing offers in the universities
  • Sharing of best practice
  • Developing of joint offers for support services across the institutions in EDUC.

Work Package 3: Research & Innovation meet education

Development of a strategy and a joint pool of resources with special focus on research-based education. Innovative forms of teaching across disciplines, anchored in research.

3.1: Develop the long-term strategy steadily linking R&I to education
  • Development of a long-term strategy to support research-based education in EDUC
  • Development of a challenge-based master program with a separate phd-track to outstanding international students, as a fast-track to a research career.

3.2: Benchmark and develop partners’ knowledge transfer eco-systems

Joint cooperation on developing ecosystems, focusing on industry cooperation, private businesses and innovation

  • Mapping and benchmarking the universities’ eco systems
  • Developing joint cooperation through best practice, anchored in common strengths and qualities in the ecosystem work

3.3 Run a series of EDUC R&I Meet Education Activities

Develop and implement joint action to enhance research and innovation-based education:

  • A joint blended course for BA students in «Critical thinking and scientific method”.  The course is blended (partly virtual, partly physical mobility) and is supposed to be included in program plans, 
  • Offer research internships for Master students, with physical mobility to partner universities
  • Offer research summer schools to Master and Phd students (blended format)

3.4: Set up the EDUC Doctoral Schools and Postdoc Network

Cooperate on concrete actions to enhance the multidisciplinary competence in phd and post doc candidates and create a network for young researchers through:

  • Developing a database for transferrable skills for phd og postdocs
  • Develop and arrange all together 8 post doc retreats – one for each university
  • Develop cotutelle agreements and a base for supervision of doctoral students across the alliance.

Work Package 4: Societal Outreach

WP4 will strengthen the dissemination of European values – inclusion, diversity and equality through cooperating with society with respect to solve societal issues, integrate teaching, research and innovative forms of learning in collaboration with external actors.  

4.1: Define the EDUC Societal Outreach Action Plan

Develop a joint action plan for cooperation with society regionally and internationally, to solve joint societal issues. Focus on inclusion, diversity, equality. 

  • Mapping of existing projects and initiatives
  • Develop a joint and long-term action plan with joint actions for 2024 and beyond.

4.2: Pilot the EDUC Youth Integration Lab

Joint actions to reach a group of marginalised, young people:

  • Develop and implement a concrete actions in the form of on-campus events to foster inclusion and equality with respect to issues related to gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation

4.3: Organise challenge-based team learning for a (social) entrepreneurial mindset
  • Mapping and analyzing existing education progrmmes within entrepreneurship at the 8 universities
  • Develop a framework for an “international entrepreneurial mindset»-module
  • Design and develop a virtual IEM module which can be included as a part of education programs, for a roll-out in 2025
  • Develop  «EDUC Talents and Entrepreneurial Skills in Europe»-days, for students and staff, to be arranged throughout 3 years at the different universities

4.4: Develop the EDUC student internship scheme, locally and internationally

Joint cooperation on internship for Bachelor- and Master students

  • Mapping formal regulations and rules, experties and needs for international internships at the universities
  • Develop joint guidelines and agreements for internships for students at the EDUC universities
  • Develop a joint platform for sharing of information on internships
  • Develop an online modul on transversal employability skills
  • Develop a joint EDUC student internship/practice/mentorship

Work Package 5: Staff Development Agenda

Develop a joint pool of resources for staff and innovative learning and competence development solutions for scientific and administrative staff members. Strengthening academic careers for young researchers.

5.1: Elaborate the EDUC Staff Development Policy

Develop a joint EDUC-policy for competence development of all staff members.

5.2: Widen staff training including crosspartner mentoring and staff secondment

Cooperation on actions to enhance the competence and mobility of administrative staff

  •  Online courses in intercultural communication/languages
  • Developing a mentoring program for administrative staff
  • Deloping a mobility program to exchange administrative staff; longer staff secondments and shorter thematical staff weeks.

5.3: Explore and pilot joint program for young researchers

Cooperation on a joint program for young researchers:

  • Develop a joint framework for a competence development program for young reserarchers
  • Identify research areas and partners for 3-year positions for young researchers, to implement in 2024
  • Application for MSCA funding for young researchers in 2025-26

5.4: Explore and outline the joint open topic EDUC professorship

Develop an EDUC professorat across the institutions, with an open profile

  • Develop and analyse different legal and financial restraints with respect to development of eventual framework for a professorship across 8 institutions
  • Develop a roadmap for implementing the EDUC professorship from 2026

5.5: Enhance key competences of researchers

Develop and implement a joint program for competence development within the following tracks:

  • Digital skills
  • Dissemination of research
  • Career development

Work Package 6: Impact, Dissemination and Sharing

Focus on internal and external communication and dissemination of results and practices.

6.1: Expand the EDUC dissemination plan and community building

Develop and implement a plan for dissemination of EDUC activities and results, through different channels; websites, social media and a variety of events linked to EDUC.

6.2: Contribute to inter-alliance collaboration and output sharing

Cooperation with other EUI alliances through dissemination of results and sharing of experiences and knowledge across the alliances. Close cooperation within the FOREU initiative.

6.3: Animate the Friends of EDUC Network (stakeholders, alumni, donors and sponsors)

Mapping, developing and implementing a strategy for cooperation with the partner universities external networks, stakeholders, alumni, sponsors and others.
