Strategic international cooperation

USN shall be regionally anchored and internationally recognised. The vision enhances strategic choices for both the educational and research areas at USN.

Our international cooperations

USN has since 2022 been a member of Young European Research UniversitiesEuropean Digital UniverCity and European University Association.

Active network participation aims to strengthen the quality of research, education and administrative services. Participation allows involvement in policy development, European mobilities, development of joint study programmes, research collaboration, development of administrative support schemes, career development, open science work and project applications to various EU programmes. USN is an active contributor in achieving the network's strategy and prioritises.

Responsibility for strategic international cooperation at the institutional level belongs to the Unit for Analysis, Strategy, and Institutional governance at USN. This responsibility involves development areas, networks, alliances and anchoring of program participation. USN is currently creating a policy for international collaborations, which will be finalized and discussed by the university board in the autumn of 2023.

YERUN

YERUN aims to promote young universities in Europe. The network has strategic representation in Brussels, focusing on lobbying and collaboration between the universities within research, innovation and education. USN participates in the network's decision-making bodies as well as several thematic working groups.

EDUC

EDUC is an alliance between eight european universities that receive financial support from the European University Initiatives (Erasmus+). EDUC also collaborates under EUs research program Horizon Europe. USN became a full-fledged member of the alliance in 2023.

EUA

EUA – European University Association plays a crucial role in the Bologna Process and in influencing EU policies on higher education, research and innovation. Through continuous interaction with a range of other European and international organisations, EUA ensures that the independent voice of European universities is heard.
