Step 1 (From 1 October)

Apply for Study Rights.

You must apply for study rights in Søknadsweb before given the rights to choose subjects.

The application for study rights is open from June 1 to the end of August (fall semester) and from October 1 to the end of January (spring semester).

  3. Click “add.”

You must upload your bachelor transcript and diploma, your high school diploma and transcript and your language documents. These subjects are taught in English so there are English requirements, but there is no requirement for test in Norwegian.

Before you can register for available subjects, you must activate your student account.

Step 3 (From 1 December)

You can do this from August 1 (fall semester) and December 1 (spring semester) as part of the semester registration. Registration operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Deadline for registering is September 1 (fall semester) and February 1 (spring semester).

Note! If you applied for study rights after August 1/December 1, you must be transferred from applicant to student before you can access Studentweb. This means you must have received the welcome email from USN before gaining access to Studentweb and selecting subjects.

Pay the semester fee.

You must pay your semester fee by 1 February.

Study Plan and Course Plans

A study plan describes the content, structure and organization of a study programme. To each study plan there is a set of course plans that describe the different courses. In the course plan you will also find a reading list. Below you will find a study model that shows you which courses that are taught in each term. In the study model you'll also find links to each course plan.

Admission requirements

BA of 180 ECTS. We recommend that students have had some outdoor life experiences and a general interest in learning more about the outdoor life field. The personal motivation to join the program is important, and we invite and welcome students from all disciplines. We find that a transdisciplinary student community generates another form of creativity than if all students come from the same discipline. So if you come from the field of art, for example, you are welcome.
