Today, the Norwegian people received the news that His Majesty King Harald, who has been the country’s head of state since 1991, has died. The King was 89 years old.
On behalf of USN, the Rector will sign the official book of condolences.
“We feel deep sorrow, and at the same time, immense gratitude for all that the King has meant to the country and to us. The memories of his wisdom, warm heart, gentle sense of humor, and deep care for all people will always remain with us,” says Rector Pia Bing-Jonsson.
USN staff and students extend their condolences and deepest sympathy to the King’s family.

USN is awaiting national guidelines regarding the observance of mourning. For the time being, classes and other activities will continue as usual. Students and staff will be informed of any changes.
