Communication and Digital Health

Illustration

At the Centre for Health and Technology, we conduct research on what effective communication in healthcare practice requires and entails, and how digitization can contribute to effective communication, health guidance, treatment, and coping. By "digital health" we mean all forms of digitally based or supported health services. Related terms are ehealth, mobile health, telehealth, and telemedicine.

The following questions reflect key areas of our research activities:

  • What is effective healthcare communication, and what role do communication and digitization play in the quality of healthcare services?
  • How to support and maintain person-oriented communication and ensure high-quality care, sharing of information and appropriate decision-making in technology-driven innovation and change processes?
  • How to encourage life-long learning and helpful coping strategies, and what role can digital health play in this work?
  • What inhibits and promotes good communication, person-oriented care and efficient services when using digital solutions?

The centre's researchers have contributed to this research over many years, primarily based on practical collaborative projects with municipalities and healthcare organisations.
