Welcome to USN Campus Kongsberg

Partner Days 2027 will take place at the University of South-Eastern Norway's campus in Kongsberg, one of Norway's leading centres for technology, industry and innovation.

USN Campus Kongsberg brings together three faculties: the Faculty of Technology, Natural Sciences and Maritime Sciences, the School of Business, and the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. This multidisciplinary environment fosters close collaboration between academia, industry and the public sector.

Kongsberg is home to a unique ecosystem of high-technology companies operating in sectors such as defence, aerospace, maritime systems, digitalisation and advanced manufacturing. The strong partnership between industry and higher education has shaped the city for generations and continues to drive innovation and competence development.

The campus is also home to Norway's only optometry programme, reflecting USN's national role in educating highly specialised professionals.

Our meetings will be held at the historic Bergseminaret, Norway's first civil institution of higher education, established in 1757 to educate engineers and technical specialists for the mining industry. Today, the building serves as a meeting place for collaboration between higher education and industry. 

During the event, we also plan a visit to the famous Kongsberg Silver Mines, offering participants a unique opportunity to experience the city's rich industrial heritage and the origins of Kongsberg's long-standing tradition of technology and innovation.

The opening reception will be at Lågdalsmuseet, located within walking distance from Kongsberg city center.

Registration details (registration link will be published by November)

  • We have a registration fee of 1100 NOK (appr. 100 EUR), which includes all the meals and other arrangements in the program. You will need to cover your own travel and accommodation expenses. Note that registration is binding and will not be refunded.
  • There is a limit of two participants per institution. 
  • We encourage our partners to use Erasmus+ staff mobility funds available at their home institutions to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
  • USN Partner Days' main target group is staff from International Relations Offices and Erasmus Offices who are involved in or interested in developing their international activities. 

Accommodation

Rooms have been reserved at Quality Hotel Grand, Kongsberg which is conveniently located 5 minutes walk from the train station and within 12 minutes walking distance to Campus Kongsberg. Follow this link in order to book a room.

Single rooms: 1,695 NOK per night
Double rooms: 1,895 NOK per night

The price includes breakfast, and rooms have been reserved for the nights of May 31st - June 2nd. The rooms are available until May 10th.
