Navncy ShermanIn this public event, we welcome professor Nancy Sherman from Georgetown University, USA to USN. Sherman is a leading philosopher working at the intersection of Stoicism, Aristotelian ethics, and moral psychology. The event explores how concepts such as resilience, emotional regulation, and moral self-formation can support professionals in responding wisely to complex and uncertain situations.

The program includes a keynote by Sherman, followed by a dialogue with professors Michael Noah Weiss and Guro Hansen Helskog, where philosophical ideas are connected to professional practice. The event continues with a panel dialogue featuring representatives from different fields. They will share concrete experiences from their work, which are then discussed and related to relevant perspectives from ancient philosophy.

Confirmed panel participants include:

  • Harald Høiback – Lieutenant Colonel & Head of Research, Armed Forces Museums
  • Ingrid Christine Reite Christensen – Professor, Norwegian Police University College
  • Linda Hafskjold – Head of Department, Optometry, Radiography and Lighting Design, USN
  • Camilla Angeltun – Associate Professor, Department of Educational Science, USN
