As a Professor of Computer Science at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), I work at the intersection of academic research, industry-driven innovation and technology education. My current research concentrates on network modelling, optimisation and performance analysis, with a special emphasis on the Recursive InterNetwork Architecture (RINA), next-generation wireless and IoT connectivity (5G/6G, Wi-Fi 6/7, BLE 5) and the application of machine-learning techniques to resilient, secure networking.
I coordinate several strategic programmes at USN, including the Industry Bachelor in Information Technology & Information Systems, Microsoft Learn for Educators and the Cisco Networking Academy, and I supervise students in topics ranging from congestion control to AI-enabled cyber-security. My teaching portfolio covers AI/ML, data engineering, full-stack development and business intelligence, complemented by recognised pedagogical training and certifications such as Cisco CyberOps Instructor and the IBM Data Science Professional Certificate.
Before joining USN I held research position at the University of Oslo and contributed to EU Horizon projects such as PRISTINE, focusing on programmable, virtualised networks. In the private sector I have led software-development and digital-services teams in banking and loyalty-programme platforms, experience that continues to inform my applied research and project-based teaching. Across academia and industry, my goal remains consistent: to design and deploy networked systems that are scalable, energy-aware and secure, while preparing the next generation of engineers to do the same.
