Any questions?

USN's EDUC-WIDE partner in Ukraine, Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University (CNU), invites you to the digital round table meeting (English round table): Advancing Gender Equality In Higher Education: Leadership, Well-Being And Institutional Practices.

What is EDUC-WIDE?

The EDUC-WIDE project is the research and innovation part of the EDUC alliance and focuses on four main areas:

  1. open research
  2. career diversity
  3. R&I collaboration
  4. research assessment.

EDUC-WIDE offers several opportunities for collaboration between researchers, access to research infrastructure and seed funding, and aims to reduce gaps in research expertise and research culture within and outside the EU.

An important part of EDUC-WIDE activities focuses on the universities that are part of our «Widening Countries»:

  • Masaryk University (Czech Republic)
  • University of Pécs (Hungary)
  • Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University (Ukraine)

The EDUC-WIDE project is funded by the EU's Horizon Europe Widening participation and spreading excellence programme under grant agreement number 101136533.

The funding follows the Horizon Europe funding, which made the EDUC alliance's research and innovation pilot, EDUC- SHARE (educalliance.eu), possible.

Aims of this round table:

  • explore interdisciplinary approaches and practical tools to raise and strengthen gender awareness among researchers. This also includes reflection on practices for self-reflection and how they can be applied across disciplines and professional contexts.
  • discuss structural barriers to feminist leadership and women's career development in academia, with particular emphasis on the academic «sandwich model» and institutional conditions that may affect access to leadership roles and opportunities for professional development.
  • examine emotional exhaustion from a gender perspective, including how gender roles, expectations and inequality can affect the quality of life of staff in academia and shape the institutional culture in higher education.
  • promote interdisciplinary dialogue on how equality can be better embedded in everyday academic practices, professional development and institutional policy.

Target group

Researchers at career stages R1–R4, academic and administrative staff working with equality, leadership, working environment, research administration and institutional development in higher education. The event is also open to anyone interested in equality and closely related topics.
