USN Culture will
Develop and establish new study programmes and postgraduate education that contributes to meeting and strengthening the competence needs of arts and culture in the following areas:
- Conducting of research, artistic development work and education within traditional art and practical-aesthetic subjects
- Conducting research and education within the humanities
- Conducting research and education within business and management, especially the areas of destination development and event management
- Conducting research and education in digitalisation and technology
- Initiating research, development and artistic work by facilitating internal collaboration across the professional communities as well as with regional and national participants
- Further developing of the academic areas together with our international strategic networks
- Strengthen our collaboration with regional participants, and apply for partnerships in regional, national, and international projects
Areas of Investment
The development project has three prioritized investment areas:
Campus Rauland
USN Culture will facilitate professional development at Campus Rauland, within the region and across relevant subject areas, in close dialogue with the cultural field regionally and nationally.
Rjukan-Notodden industrial heritage
Further developing of the regional and national position of the university as a knowledge and expertise partner within the museum sector in general, and within the world heritage Rjukan-Notodden industrial heritage in particular. This prioritised focus area shall be seen in connection with the further developing of Campus Notodden.
Cultural-based private sector
Participate to strengthen the culture-based private sector in the region. USN Culture shall highlight culture as an explicit industry through facilitating entrepreneurship, events and destination development.
USN Culture is a developing project which was established for the period 2021-2025.
